Dayton State Park

Learn how to handle a variety of wildlife encounters, whether it’s while camping, hiking, or in your own backyard. Join the Nevada Department of Wildlife’s Urban Wildlife Coordinator for a lesson on what to do and how to react to wild animals, including raccoons, coyotes, bears, mountain lions, bobcats, skunks, and even snakes (gopher snakes and rattlesnakes).

WHAT: Wildlife Awareness Talk

WHEN: Friday, August 30, 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

WHERE: Dayton State Park is located 12 miles east of Carson City, Nevada on U.S. Highway 50. The park entrance is located across the highway from the Gold Ranch Casino.

WHO: This event is open to the public and is sponsored by Nevada State Parks and the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

COST:  Park entrance fees are waived for this event.
