Guided Hikes at Washoe Lake in February

Washoe Lake State Park

Full Moon Hike: Explore the park by the light of a full moon on this moderate 1.5-mile ranger-guided night hike to the gazebo on the Deadman’s Creek Trail. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 775-687-4319 or e-mailing washoelake@hdiss.net.

WHEN: Saturday, February 11, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Washoe Lake State Park, 4855 Eastlake Blvd. Take Exit 44 from I-580, drive north on Eastlake Blvd, 4 miles, and the park’s entrance is on the left. Meet at the Maze parking lot (turn left past the fee booth, and it will be the first parking lot on the right).
COST: This event is free after the park’s entrance fee of $7 per vehicle. Nevada residents receive a $2 discount. Cash or checks are accepted.

Sand Dunes Hike: Discover the sand dunes at Washoe Lake on this moderate three-mile ranger-guided hike.

WHEN: Sunday, February 19, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
WHERE: Washoe Lake State Park, 4855 Eastlake Blvd. Take Exit 44 from I-580, drive north on Eastlake Blvd, 4 miles, and the park’s entrance is on the left. We will meet at the Equestrian Pavilion (turn right after the fee booth, pass the campgrounds, and follow the short gravel road to the pavilion).
COST: This event is free after the park’s entrance fee of $7/vehicle. Nevada residents receive a $2 discount. Cash or checks are accepted.
