Family Day and Dutch Oven Demonstration

Walk off your turkey dinner at the Walker River State Recreation Area ranger-guided Family Day Hike!  Park staff will be available to discuss the history and future plans of Nevada’s newest state park. The hike will commence at 10 a.m., followed by refreshment at the Visitor’s Center during the Dutch Oven demonstration.  

WHEN: Friday, November 29, 10 a.m. 

WHERE: Meet at the Visitor Center at the Walker State Recreation Area, Pitchfork Ranch, 211 E. Walker Road, Yerington, NV 89447. From Yerington, head south on Hwy 208 and turn left on East Walker Road, continue for 4 miles to the entrance of the Pitchfork Ranch. 

COST:  The event is free to the public however the $5 Day Use fee per vehicle to enter still applies.
