Full Moon Hike Saturday, July 12, 2014

New Washoe City, Nev. –Take an evening hike along the Deadman’s Creek trail and watch the moon rise! The program is free after the entrance fee to the park. Entrance is $7/vehicle. Nevada residents are given a $2 discount. What: Full Moon Hike

This two-mile, moderate walk will begin at the main boat ramp, inside Washoe Lake State Park. We will watch the sunset and moon rise on the way up to the gazebo. This months’ full moon is a “super moon,” which means that the moon is at its closest point to the earth. Please wear sturdy hiking boots (no flip-flops) for this hike. Participants should also bring water, a camera, and a flashlight. Reservations are required for this hike, and are limited to 30. Dogs are allowed on this hike, but must remain on a leash.

                WHEN: Saturday, July 12 at 8:30 p.m. Plan on about two hours for his hike.

                WHERE: Meeting location will be made known upon registration.

                WHO: This event is open to the public and is sponsored by Nevada State Parks.

                COST: There is no charge for the program, but there is a $7/vehicle entrance fee. Nevada residents receive a $2 discount.
