Join park rangers at the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort for Saturday events through the month of May. All programs are open to the general public and all ages are welcome. The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort is located in downtown Las Vegas, at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and East Washington Avenue.
May 3: Native American Crafts
Explore how the Paiute Indians lived in Las Vegas while weaving a basket, making a mini bow and arrow or a beaded bracelet.
WHEN: Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
May 17: Adobe Brick Making Demonstration
Learn how to build adobe bricks just like the pioneers did, using dirt, sand, dried vegetation and water.

May 24: Dragonflies, Birds and Water Bugs Oh My!
Learn about the critters that call the Old Fort pond home.

May 31: Old Fort Mineral and Gem Dig
Go on a real life treasure hunt, digging and sifting through the Old Fort’s sand pit and mine your own minerals.
