WASHOE VALLEY, Nev. Washoe Lake State Park is hosting an introduction to Dutch oven cooking class. Local Dutch oven cooking experts from the Northern Sierra Dutch Oven Group will lead participants in preparing main entrees and desserts such as cobbler and Mississippi Mud Cake. This is a hands-on audience participation program, so bring your apron and be prepared to do some cooking. Pre-registration is required and class is limited to 30 participants. WHAT: Introduction to Dutch Oven Cooking
WHEN: Saturday, August 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Participants will meet at the Washoe Lake State Park Main Group Reservation Area.WashoeLakeState Park is 18 miles south ofReno and five miles north ofCarson City. Travel on U.S. 395, take the Eastlake Boulevard (Exit 44) and park entrance is on the left.
WHO: The event is open to the public. Reservation preference will be given to those who have not attended this class before.
COST: There is no charge for the program, but there is a $ 7.00 per vehicle entry fee. Nevada residents receive a $ 2.00 discount.
