Events at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in September

SpringMountainRanch 150x150 Events at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in SeptemberBLUE DIAMOND, Nev. – The following events will be held at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park throughout September. Entrance fees include all of the featured program activities.  Fees are $9 per vehicle; Nevada residents received a $2 discount.  Some reservations are required. Spring Mountain Ranch is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

September 7: Owner’s Day

Meet the previous historic ranch owners of Spring Mountain Ranch. First person interpreters will give tours of the historic buildings they once called home.

               WHEN: Saturday, September 7 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

               WHERE: The park is located 15 miles west of Las Vegas, via Charleston Boulevard within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

               WHO: The event is open to the public.

September 14: Civil War Re-enactment

Re-enactors bring the life of a Civil War soldier to the present with active participation from our visitors. Join them in the historic area for a once in a lifetime experience.

               WHEN: Saturday, September 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

               WHERE: The park is located 15 miles west of Las Vegas, via Charleston Boulevard within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

               WHO: The event is open to the public.

September 21: Pioneer Days

Take a step back in time and discover the pioneer era with live music, spinning and weaving demonstrations, gold panning, black powder rifle shooting and candle dipping. S’mores and hot chocolate will be served for free at 4 p.m. until supplies last.

               WHEN: Saturday, September 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

               WHERE: The park is located 15 miles west of Las Vegas, via Charleston Boulevard within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

               WHO: The event is open to the public.

September 19 and 20: Full Moon Hikes

Enjoy the full moon during ranger lead hikes into Ash Grove or Sandstone Canyon. Both hikes begin at 7 p.m. at the tour gate. Participation is limited, so reservations are required by calling 702-875-4141.

               WHEN: Thursday and Friday, September 19 and 20 starting at 7 p.m.

               WHERE: The park is located 15 miles west of Las Vegas, via Charleston Boulevard within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

               WHO: The event is open to the public, but space is limit and reservations are required.

 

The Nevada Division of State Parks plans, develops and maintains a system of parks and recreation areas for the use and enjoyment of more than 3.3 million visitors a year. The division was established in 1963 by the Nevada Legislature to form a new state park agency within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The division manages and maintains 23 parks, historic sites and recreation areas in Nevada.
