FALLON, Nev. – Learn how to cook traditional dishes in various sized Dutch ovens. The Northern Nevada Dutch Oven Group will be donating their time to teach participants how to make six different dishes, including lasagna and pineapple upside down cake. Prizes will be awarded to several participants. Space is limited, so please make reservations by calling 775-867-3500.
WHAT: Dutch Oven Class
WHEN: Saturday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE: Lahontan Dam day-use area, located at 16799 Lahontan Dam Road, Fallon 89406. From Hwy 50, in between Silver Springs and Leetville Junction, turn south onto Lahontan Dam Road. Continue on Lahontan Dam Road, past the bridge, over the Carson River and stay on the paved road to the main entrance of the park.
WHO: The event is open to the public and is sponsored by Northern Nevada Dutch Oven Group.
COST: the per vehicle entrance fee is $5.00 for in-state and $7.00 for out-of-state visitors. Cash or Check accepted. Class participation is free.

The Nevada Division of State Parks plans, develops and maintains a system of parks and recreation areas for the use and enjoyment of more than 3.3 million visitors a year. The division was established in 1963 by the Nevada Legislature to form a new state park agency within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The division manages and maintains 23 parks, historic sites and recreation areas in Nevada.
