Anniversary Presentations at South Fork State Recreation Area from June through August

SouthForSRA 150x150 Anniversary Presentations at South Fork State Recreation Area from June through AugustSPRING CREEK, Nev. –South Fork State Recreation Area and Division of Water Resources will be hosting several presentations in celebration of South Fork’s 25th Anniversary throughout the summer. The presentations are free and open to the public, but seating is limited on a first-come first-serve basis. Presentations may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Learn about thee early history of South Fork Dam and how it came to be, its construction and recent maintenance.

               WHEN: Thursday, June 20 at 8 p.m.

               WHERE: The top of the east campground. South Fork is located in Spring Creek, NV; travel 7 miles South on Elko on SR 227, turn right on SR 288 (5.5 miles) and turn right on Lower South Fork Road (travel 3.5 miles).

               WHO: This event is open to the public. Division of Water Resources/State Engineer’s Office and NV State Parks will be hosting the event.

The Nevada Division of State Parks plans, develops and maintains a system of parks and recreation areas for the use and enjoyment of more than 3.3 million visitors a year. The division was established in 1963 by the Nevada Legislature to form a new state park agency within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The division manages and maintains 23 parks, historic sites and recreation areas in Nevada.
