A Spaceflight Through the Solar System and Beyond slide program at Washoe Lake State Park on Saturday, July 21

WASHOE VALLEY, Nev. – Washoe Lake State Park is hosting this program for the first time. Guest speaker, Brian Buttazoni, an astronomy enthusiast, will talk about the unique geology of the planets taken from previous spacecraft. Weather permitting; participants will learn how to identify some of the constellations after the slide show.

WHAT:  A Spaceflight Through the Solar System and Beyond

WHEN: Saturday, July 21 from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

WHERE: Participants will meet at the picnic tables in the hang gliding landing zone.  WashoeLake is 18 miles south ofReno and 5 miles north ofCarson City. Travel on U.S. 395, then take exit 44 and drive approximately 3 ½ miles onEast Lake Blvd. to the main park entrance.

WHO:  The event is open to the public.

COST:  There is no charge for the program, but there is a $ 7.00 per vehicle entry fee. Nevada residents receive a $ 2.00 discount.
