GENOA,Nev.-MormonStationStateHistoricParkis now open for the season. If you haven’t been inside the log-cabin museum in a while, you are invited to visit. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adult admission is $1 and children 12 and under are free.
Bring a picnic lunch or barbeque on one of the park’s charcoal grills. The family dog is welcome so long as the dog is leashed and the owner cleans up after the dog.
The park is a perfect setting for a wedding, family reunion, company picnic, retirement party or club barbeque. The reservation fee is affordable. Call the park at 775-782-2590 for reservations and availability.
MormonStationStateHistoricParkis participating in the Blue Star Museums program, offering free admission to active-duty military (military ID required) and up to five family members. The program runs from May 28, 2012 through September 3, 2012.
There are a lot of interesting events planned for the 2012 season including a once-a-month historical speaker series, a stargazing event, a Pony Express re-ride, and a Fire Prevention and Awareness program. Additional programs are being scheduled. Check the State Parks website for specific information about events.
