Leave No Trace Trainers Course at Valley of Fire State Park on Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4

OVERTON, Nev. – Valley of Fire State Park is hosting a free program March 3, 2012 to promote skills and ethics that support the sustainable use of wild lands and natural areas. This two-day course includes one night of camping. Upon completion participants will become a Leave No Trace Trainer and receive a certificated from the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics in Boulder, Colo.
WHAT: Leave No Trace Trainers Course
WHEN: Saturday, March 3 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, March 4 at 5 p.m.
WHERE: The park is located six miles from Lake Mead and 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas via Interstate 15 and on exit 75. The group will meet at Group Use Site #3.
WHO: The event is open to the public, who will in turn train others. There is maximum of 15 and minimum of five participants for this program. Reservations must be made no later than February 26, 2012.
COST: There is no cost for the program, but each participant will need to bring their own food and gear.

MORE: Each participant needs to bring camping gear – tent, sleeping bag, etc. – and food. Two large BBQ grills will be provided. Hiking is part of the programs, so bringing a day pack and good hiking boots is recommending.
