Nevadaween at Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort Saturday, October 29, 2011

LAS VEGAS – Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park’s annual Nevadaween event, a celebration of Halloween and Nevada Day, will include games, raffles, a pumpkin decorating contest and two guest speakers — Mark Twain and Cap’N Dave the dinosaur expert.

Mark Twain will talk about his time in Nevada’s history, while Cap’N Dave will talk about the many species of dinosaurs that roamed southern Nevada. The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP) will be hosting a tasteful soup cook-off. Kids are encouraged to come dressed in costume, and candy will be handed out.

WHAT: Nevadaween, a Halloween / Nevada Day celebration

WHEN: Saturday, October 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park, located at 500 East Washington Avenue at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

WHO: The event is open to the public.

COST: $1.00 for adults; children under 12 are free.
