Beginning Dutch-oven cooking August 29 at Washoe Lake State Park

Join Washoe Lake State Park rangers for the experience of preparing, cooking and sampling chow like potatoes, cobblers and entrees made in a Dutch oven.
Dutch-oven cooking is an historic type of cooking in America, brought over from European settlers. It involves using a cast-iron cooking pot over an open campfire with coals placed on top of the pot. Dutch-oven cooking promises a delicious taste unlike any other cooking method.
The program is limited to 30 participants. Call 775-687-4319 to reserve space. Everyone will meet in the main group pavilion at 5:00 p.m. The program is free, but a $4.00 park entry fee is charged per vehicle.
Washoe Lake State Park is located on East Lake Boulevard in Washoe Valley.
